| Congress Park itself began in 1903 as Denver’s first city nursery. It now features tennis courts, playgrounds, and an outdoor swimming pool. The surrounding neighborhood showcases Arts and Crafts, Dutch Colonial, Mediterranean, Queen Anne, and Victorian residences and elegant apartment buildings from the 1930s. The well-manicured lawns, mature trees and corner churches add to Congress Park’s charm. The neighborhood’s north and south borders are Colfax Avenue and 6th Avenue, while its east and west boundaries are Colorado Boulevard and York Street. Immediately across the neighborhood’s western border lie the Denver Botanic Gardens, which showcase a variety of vegetation and hosts summer concerts. |
